Do you offer spinal decompression in Hood River?
+
No. Spinal decompression on the DRX9000 is offered only at our Portland clinic, where it is performed by Dr. Jerome Craig. At our Hood River clinic, Dr. Andrew Alvis treats disc, back and neck conditions with chiropractic care and can refer you to Portland for decompression when your exam supports it.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
+
Most of the time, no. Most patients can book directly with either ALVIS Chiropractic clinic without a referral from another doctor. Some insurance plans do require one, so we recommend checking your plan or calling our office and we will help you confirm before your first visit.
Do you accept insurance?
+
Yes. We work with many plans, including PacificSource, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, Providence Health Plan, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, plus Medicaid, workers' compensation and auto/PIP claims. Coverage varies, so please verify your plan. We also offer self-pay discounts, payment plans and CareCredit at both clinics.
What happens at the free consultation?
+
The free consultation is a no-cost conversation with the doctor about your symptoms, health history and goals. The doctor explains whether chiropractic care or, in Portland, spinal decompression may be a good fit, and what next steps such as an exam would involve. There is no obligation to start care.
Which clinic is Dr. Alvis at, and which is Dr. Craig at?
+
Dr. Andrew Alvis, D.C., practices at our Hood River clinic at 114 Cascade Ave. Dr. Jerome Craig, D.C., LMT, practices at our Portland clinic at 2916 NE Broadway, Suite B, and performs DRX9000 spinal decompression there. Each doctor sees patients at his own clinic only.
Do you treat kids and pregnant patients?
+
Yes. Both our Portland and Hood River clinics offer pediatric chiropractic care for infants, children and teens, and prenatal chiropractic care during pregnancy. Techniques are gentle and adapted to each patient's age, size and stage of pregnancy, and the doctor will talk through any questions before care begins.
